FALL LEAGUE

Advanced League

The Silver State Soccer League (SSSL) hosts the Advanced Division for teams who are returning to the program from last year, and who are currently training as part of an organized & structured soccer curriculum. The mission of the Advanced Division is to provide teams of young girls the opportunity to acquire and develop soccer skills through balanced levels of competition and coaching expertise. It is designed to evolve and mature with the players in order to provide increasing challenges and growth opportunities.

Overview

The Advanced Division is the second tier of competition and is home to about 85% of all participating U7-U14 club teams.  Teams competing in the Advanced Division are scheduled in our Classic “Gold” and Classic “Silver” Brackets.

Classic “Gold” Bracket

The Gold Bracket is most closely assimilated to club teams who compete in local tournaments and may at times travel out-of-state for tournament competitions.  Gold Bracket teams might be travel teams who aspire to becoming a regional-league contender in the near future, and SSSL is here to provide these teams with matches that will help coaches develop their teams through meaningful competition and skill-appropriate challenges.  The U9-U14 Gold Bracket offers a series of “group play” and “pairing play” matches during the regular season (September – December). Every match played throughout the season counts toward group standings.  At the conclusion of group play, teams are then “paired” with their most like-opponents, based on standings, to ensure that peak competition is attained towards the end of the season.

Classic “Silver” Bracket

The Silver Bracket is designed for teams who are most likely to participate in notable local tournaments, but do not necessarily travel out-of-state in search of additional high-level competitions.  Teams in this division may have a goal to develop into travel teams, but their primary focus for this season is to practice proper fundamental soccer as part of the club’s overall player development curriculum.  The Silver Bracket encourages essential play time, a multitude of touches on the ball for each player, and match-related scenarios that encourage the development of both technical skill and tactical decision making.  This division is both meaningful and fun for players as it removes many of the pressures associated with ranked competitions.  While we do offer some age-group standings in the Silver Bracket, we encourage them to be used for assessment purposes when deciding which additional competitions to enter and pursue.

Games are played on available Saturdays and on the occasional week night throughout the designated season. Registration fees include annual membership for all rostered players (player card w/ secondary insurance), referee fees for all matches, facility costs, and a minimum of 8 games per season.
